The United Nations opened last week with talk of peace. The map still smelled of war. President Trump gave Iran an ultimatum. Make a deal that lets Tehran rebuild, he said. Or face annihilation.
Then Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took the podium. The hall emptied. According to coverage of the speech, about half the Assembly walked out.
Conservative political commentator, Glenn Beck, called it the unfolding of prophecy.
Palestinians speak, and the room stays. Iranians speak, and the room stays. Israel’s leader stands, and diplomats head for the doors. That is the age we are in. Wars and rumors of wars now share the same news cycle.
A Choice, Then a Meeting
Trump told the Assembly he will not let dangers grow. Tehran had already rejected one offer. End the nuclear program. End support for terror proxies. Get economic cooperation in return.
“Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before?” he asked. “Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic…?”
The words were blunt. The next step was too. Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff met Iranian officials for about three hours. Trump later called the session productive. He said more talks were coming.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi named Tehran’s price. Lift the U.S. naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz. Release frozen assets. End the war on what Iran calls “resistance fronts.”
That is not surrender. It is a regime bargaining while it still has cards. The White House is right to treat those cards as limited. A nuclear-armed Islamic Republic would not be a partner. It would threaten every ship that needs that waterway.
Israel, Blamed Again
As Washington talked about Iran, the U.N. turned on Israel. Secretary-General António Guterres accused Israel of “bulldozing the path to peace” in the West Bank. French President Emmanuel Macron claimed Hamas “was never active in the West Bank.”
Israel answered with their own data. On the eve of Yom Kippur, Hamas murdered Netanel Shukrun. He was a French citizen and a father of six. He died in Judea and Samaria, not Gaza. With his last breath, he told his son to run.
Netanyahu called those who walked out “moral cowards.” Beck’s point cut deeper than the insult. You do not have to like Netanyahu. You do not have to bless every Israeli war choice. You can still see what the empty chairs mean. The nations are picking a side. It is not the Jewish state.

What Zechariah Already Said
Beck argued that prophecy fulfillment now appears close. Isolation comes first. Then the nations gather against Jerusalem. Zechariah 14:2 is plain. The Lord says He will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle. The city will be taken. Houses will be plundered. Women will be violated. Half the city will go into exile.
That is not a metaphor for a bad press week. It is a picture of the world arrayed against the Jewish capital. The aim is to destroy it and loot it.
Scripture does not stop at abandonment. After the world turns its back, Israel calls out to God. Then two other texts come into view. Zechariah 14:1 announces the day of the Lord. Spoil taken from Jerusalem is divided in her midst. Judgment falls on the plunderers as well as on the city. Zechariah 12:10 promises more. God will pour on the house of David, and on the people of Jerusalem, a spirit of grace and prayer. They will look on the One they have pierced.
Isolation is not the last word. The walkout is not the last word either. But the walkout is a warning.
Hormuz, Fire, and a Narrow Opening
A commercial ship was struck in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, September 23. One crew member died. More than twenty sailors were evacuated. Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, told the Assembly that Iranians are “victims of terrorism” by the United States and Israel. He said Iran will not bow. He also said Tehran is ready for talks “without accepting the language of force.”
The White House answered. The regime has launched terror in the Strait. Such a country must never hold a nuclear weapon.
The Charge
Watch the talks. Watch Hormuz. Do not confuse the noise of the General Assembly with the truth on the ground. And pray. Pray for America. Pray for Israel. Pray for Iran. Pray for the Muslim world. Pray for the innocent on every side.
Do not follow the trend of Jew-hatred. It is rising on the left and the right. Do not swallow every conspiracy theory that blames the Jews for the world’s ills. Hear the counterargument. Weigh the facts. Decide with balance. Zechariah does not tell believers to gloat. It tells them to watch. Refuse the mob.
